Mr. Brown is a US Navy Veteran who served his country in the US and abroad. He enrolled into law school while stationed at NAS Miramar in the Spring of 1981. Unable to finish at no fault of his own, Mr. Brown started studying real estate in 2003 as Sr. Vice President of Mortgage Planners & Funding Inc.


Since 2003, Mr. Brown is the current CEO of BBR — a Boutique Residential & Commercial Investment Strategy & Consulting firm throughout the SF Bay Area. He brings a rare combination of legal training, financial acumen, and two decades of frontline brokerage leadership.


Over the past decade, Mr. Brown has utilized his natural gift to serve others — coaching and helping dozens of agents and brokers get licensed. This handbook is the culmination of that service: every system, process, and lesson he’s gathered, shared freely.

1981

Law School — NAS Miramar, US Navy

Enrolled into law school while stationed at NAS Miramar during active service. Built the legal and analytical foundation that would inform every aspect of his real estate career.


2003

Entered Real Estate — Sr. VP, Mortgage Planners & Funding Inc.

Began studying real estate as Senior Vice President of Mortgage Planners & Funding Inc. — gaining deep expertise in mortgage strategy, investment analysis, and client advisory at the institutional level.


2003 – Present

CEO / Broker — BBR (Brown Brothers Realty)

Founded and leads BBR, a boutique residential and commercial investment strategy and consulting firm throughout the SF Bay Area. Over two decades, built a reputation for compliance-first operations, personalized client service, and sustainable growth systems.


Past Decade

Coaching — 100+ Agents & Brokers Licensed

Leveraged a natural gift for service to coach and mentor dozens of agents and brokers through licensing and beyond. Every coaching relationship informed the systems now captured in this handbook.


2025

The Independent Broker’s Handbook — Published

Released Version 1 of the handbook — the all-in-one operational guide for independent brokers. Co-founded Independent Brokers BWC to extend the community around the handbook’s principles.
